Found a wooden plant stand you love on Pinterest? Now comes the tricky part: finding one that fits your pot and your room.
You do not need a large space to give your plant a place of its own. Start with the pot you already have.
Check these three things first
- Pot size: Measure the base and the widest part.
- Weight: Include the pot, plant, soil and water.
- Space: Check where the stand will go. Leave room to walk past and water your plant.
A stand may look small in a photo. Its legs can still take up more floor space than you expect.
Choose a style that fits your space
A low stand can lift one pot off the floor. A taller stand can bring a small plant into view. A stand with several levels can group plants together.
Think about light, too. A nice corner is only useful if it suits your plant.
Want to make your own?
A photo gives you an idea. A build plan should explain how the parts fit together.
Before buying wood, look for:
- Clear sizes for the finished stand.
- A list of wood and other materials.
- The tools you will need.
- Step-by-step assembly instructions.
- Any stated weight limits and stability details.
Do not guess how much weight a stand can hold from its picture.

Start with your plant
Measure your pot. Pick its spot. Then compare plans with those needs in mind. It is an easier way to choose a project you will actually use.
